CREATE REFLECTIVITY!

Spring is in the air. So happy for it! To be honest I will not miss a thing about this winter ( I´ve had a rought time lately, but I will talk about that another day....)

The days are getting longer but it is still dark in the evenings and in the early mornings. As we all know, it is extremely important that we are seen in the dark and reflectors really help us all to be more visible. It is quite easy to get children to wear reflexes but adults are more careless in this area.

Sewing your own reflectors is easy, fun and cheap. You can create them exactly the way you want in a simple way. Reflective tapes are available for purchase in most department stores and sewing accessories stores and you do not need a sewing machine to sew these brilliant reflective jewelry.

Reflective bows are perfect to put on your arms. Reflectors work best when they are on the arms or on the legs because they moves and therefore make it easier for motorists to see us.

I made my reflective bow from a reflective tape that I put a safety pin on. You can of course use brooch pins as well, but safety pins actually work just as well.

Reflective flowers are fun to sew and you can attach them anywhere on your outdoor clothes.

Cut a piece of reflective tape that is three times as long as it is wide. If, for instance, your reflective tape is 4 cm wide, you should have a piece that is 12 cm. Sew your reflective tape together into a ring and be sure to keep track of which side is the reflective side. If you are unsure, you can go into a dark room and light with a flashlight. It is just as easy to sew the reflective tape together by hand if you do not want to use a sewing machine.

When you have sewn the reflective tape together, fold it in half and gather it in half by sewing long stitches around the open side.

Pull and wrinkle the ring into a flower and fasten with several stitches.

Attach a bead to the center of the reflex-rose and sew a safety pin or brooch pin to the back.

What is extra fun with reflective jewelry is that you can put on pearls and other things that match your outerwear. They become like the icing on the cake and also increase your safety in the winter darkness.
