UPCYCLE TAPESTRY TO A BAG

A while ago I found a tapestry with deers in a vintage shop. I really liked the tapestry but I didn´t want to put it on my wall - no, I wanted to make a bag out of it.

I found an old pair of jeans to go with the tapestry-bag.

Deep down in my cupboards I found a very old piece of interfacing that I once bought at a flea market.

For the lining I used an old curtain.

It did feel a bit odd to put the scissors in the old tapestry but the tapestry had done its mission as a tapestry- now it was time to transform it into a bag!

The poor deers had been hanging on walls for so many years- not it was time for them to come out in the open air. The first travel for the bag was a trip to the beach. A bit windy thought but I´m sure the deers appreciated it.

I really suggest you to go to Vintage shops and have a look for old tapestries. They are solid and perfect for bags. And the motives are often very exciting and unusual. And if you dont´t want to make a bag out of it they are also perfect for pillow making.
